Ever since the whole slip dress/lingerie/nightwear trend blew up, I've been really into silky, satiny garments.

I love the nightgown look. I've gone so far as to design a charmeuse silk gown in a slip dress style for a friend's wedding a few months ago. And many (many, many) a slip dress has made its way into my closet this past year.

Which is why I decided to devote a whole blog post to satin and silk garments. And sateen, which is cotton with a glossy finish. It's fake satin. And therefore cheaper. Which is always nice.
