It seems like every winter for the past several years I've been on the hunt for a specific type of outerwear. Two years ago, I was scouting for the perfect affordable leather jacket (no success). Last year, it was the perfect baby blue wool coat (again, no success). And this year, it's the perfect aviator jacket.
And I haven't been successful on my aviator jacket search yet either. I mean, the aviator jacket featured in the three outfits in this post is nice. I ordered it, actually. But it was just WAY too oversized. Don't get me wrong, I generally like oversized. But I'm afraid this particular aviator jacket just wasn't made for petite persons.
But if you're over 5'2'' and you like this moto jacket, give it a shot. But also, even if you're not into this jacket, this post will hopefully provide some inspiration for styling any aviator (or any oversized jacket, really) that you might have.
In the first outfit, the aviator jacket is paired with skinny black jeans and a chunky black sweater. Sleek, all-black, paired with the perfect accessories - this look could become your go-to winter style if you so desire.
Right below, the oversized moto jacket is paired with a pink dress. I love the contrast of the masculine jacket with the feminine dress. Red booties add even more contrast and uniqueness to this look, along with bold red lipstick, gold and black earrings, and an adorable mini Gucci bag.
Last up, the aviator is paired with a red midi skirt and mustard turtleneck. Also along for the ride are gorgeous black lace booties, fringed earrings and a cherry-embellished clutch. There's a lot going on in this outfit. And I like it. A lot.
