New Favorite Makeup Picks
It’s been almost a year. Since my last makeup post. I’ll tell you why.
Because I really only post products that I use on a very regular basis. Makeup that I’ve repeatedly tried and used and consistently love.
And it’s hard for me to accumulate enough of these new makeup products to make a post out of. This time, it’s taken me 10 months to procure enough makeup that I wanted to share with you.
I should clarify. I definitely use and love more makeup than what you’ll find posted below. But I’ve shared a lot of those makeup items with you in the past. Like here. Here. And here.
Today’s post brings you the newest makeup that I’ve discovered and that I feel must be shared with the universe.
My makeup preference is natural, dewy, and fresh. Which is why most of the products featured here are lightweight, natural, and are of cream and oil formulations.
Let’s get to it then. There are less than ten. You can do it.
1. Kosas tinted face oil foundation
Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation $42
Some of my favorite makeup finds are of the foundation/tinted moisturizer/BB cream variety. Because it’s the base, it covers the most face surface, and thus, it’s one of the most important components of your makeup routine.
This Kosas tinted face oil was a great find for me. It’s super liquidy and blends effortlessly to a lightweight, sheer, hydrating, natural finish. Plus, it’s full of skin-loving (non-comedogenic) oils and is made with clean ingredients.
2. Kiehl’s Beautifying BB Cream SPF 50
Kiehl’s Beautifying BB Cream SPF 50 $38
I have tried DOZENS of tinted moisturizers/BB creams/CC creams to date and this Kiehl’s BB cream is definitely my current favorite. It’s so easy to blend, full of vitamin C for brightening, has the most natural, slightly dewy finish, and has SPF 50, which is friggin awesomeeeeeee. And it’s less than $40, which lesssbereal, is pretty good as far as non-drugstore makeup goes.
3. Stila Hide and Chic Foundation
Stila Hide and Chic Foundation $39
I don’t often wear foundation. I tend to stick with tinted moisturizers and tinted sunscreens and products such as the Kosas oil and Kiehl’s BB cream pictured above.
But if I do wear foundation, I want it to be lightweight, natural, dewy, skin-like, and effortless. All of which this Stila foundation is. And this one’s also just under 40 bucks. And comes with a nice shade range.
4. MAC Eye Kohl Eyeliner
I purchased this eyeliner in the shade Costa Riche because a makeup artist I follow recommended it as the perfect complement to green eyes. I agree. Vehemently. It’s an ideal shade of brown. And the actual formulation is rich and smooth and creamy.
5. Kosas Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo
Kosas Cream Blush & Highlighter Duo $34
YAS another Kosas product. This blush and highlighter duo is awesome. It’s so creamy, has a great amount of pigmentation, provides a glowy but natural finish, and has beneficial oils and clean ingredients.
As you can see, I’ve hit pan on the highlighter. Because I tend to go a little overboard with highlighter, as a general rule.
6. Milk Makeup Glow Oil Lip + Cheek
Milk Makeup Glow Oil Lip + Cheek $14
I LUFFF this little blush lip thingy. It’s the perfect on-the-go makeup, and not just because it’s so small and cute. Also because it provides the prettiest glowing tint to your lips and cheeks, with a healthy amount of pigmentation and sheen. I’ve already purchased a second and I’m not even halfway through my first.
7. Colourpop So Juicy Plumping Gloss
Colourpop So Juicy Plumping Gloss $7
I’ve tried countless lip plumpers on the market, and this is the only one that’s worked without simultaneously irritating or burning or uncomfortably tingling my lips. I’m not kidding: no discomfort, and it actually WILL plump your lips. I’ve already purchased a third shade. And it’s so affordable!!
8. Sephora Collection Rouge Lacquer Lipstick
Sephora Collection Rouge Lacquer Lipstick $13
I’m not a lipstick wearer, but I will make an exception for a lipstick that’s more natural and has a super creamy, sheeny finish. Like this Sephora one. It’s kinda like a lip balm, only more pigmented and shiny. It’s so good. And pretty affordable.
