No-Bake Milk Chocolate Tart
Okay people. It’s the last recipe of May 2019. In less than a month summer officially begins!!!!
You know what that means? So many things, it means.
But the thing I want to talk about today is the no-bake dessert. That’s one of the things that summer means.
Because who wants to turn on their hot oven in the blazing summer heat? Nobody, das who.
And so. In anticipation of summer. And of Shavuot next week. Today I present to you a no-bake dessert. A no-bake milk chocolate tart. With all the fresh and juicy summer berries piled atop it.
It’s an indulgent and beautiful summer dessert that requires no time in the oven and, really, no time to whip up.
In fact, this no-bake chocolate tart may just be the ultimate summer indulgence. I mean, we’re basically talking about a tart that consists of a sweet, crumbly, crispy, tender, tasty AF chocolate Oreo cookie crust and a creamy, rich, velvety milk chocolate ganache filling.
So much chocolate. So much milkiness. So much richness. So much indulgence. So much awesome. So much.
And it’s all of 7 ingredients. This entire no-bake chocolate tart. Crust and filling included. Fancy fruit toppings not included.
Fancy fruit toppings not included, but highly recommended. Because
impressive!
delicious!
beautiful!
seasonal!
no extra work required (aside from simply placing the fruits onto the tart)!
So yeah. If you really want to go all out and impress your crowd, finish the tart off with fresh fruits. I suggest all types of berries. As pictured above and below. Because it’s almost June! And because berries require no slicing or chopping. And because berries are so attractive.
Also. A sprinkling of confectioners sugar and/or chocolate shavings wouldn’t hurt nobody. If you’d like to include those along with the juicy and tangy and sweet and fresh fruit.
So. The crust. It’s Oreo cookies, a pinch of salt, and butter. Butter to make it stick. And to make it buttery. And tender. And delightful.
The crust is blended together in a food processor in under a minute and pressed into your tart pan and chilled in the freezer while you’re preparing the milk chocolate ganache.
The filling. It’s milk chocolate. And heavy cream. And vanilla extract. And a dash of salt.
The cream is heated, the chocolate is chopped, and the hot cream is poured over the chocolate and vanilla and salt to melt it all down to a velvety, milky dream.
Pour ganache into crust. Place tart into fridge. Wait many hours for tart to set. Devour. But garnish with toppings before devouring.
Easy peasy. Quick and hassle-free. Looks way more intricate than it actually is. ALL GREAT THINGS!
Tender and crispy and melt-in-your-mouth and indulgent and milky and velvety and chocolaty and no-bake and fresh and gawwwwgeous.
No-bake milk chocolate tart - I want you and I want you now and forever and always.
No-Bake Milk Chocolate Tart
Crust:
24 Oreo cookies
Pinch of salt
6 tablespoons (3 oz.) butter, melted
Milk Chocolate Ganache:
12 oz. milk chocolate
6. oz. heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of salt
-Fresh fruit, chocolate shavings, and confectioners sugar for garnishing (optional)
1. Make the crust: In a food processor, blend the Oreo cookies and salt until ground. Stir the melted butter into the crumbs until combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Place the pan into the freezer while preparing the ganache.
2. Make the ganache: Chop the chocolate finely and place into a medium bowl. Heat the heavy cream in a small pot or in the microwave until it just begins to boil. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let the mixture stand for 5 minutes before gently stirring the chocolate and cream together until smooth. Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.
3. Pour the chocolate ganache into the chilled crust. Refrigerate tart for a few hours until set, preferably overnight. If garnishing the tart with fruit, do so right before serving, after the chocolate has set in the fridge. Store tart covered in the fridge for up to four days.
