Fanny Packs: Some Favorites

Yep, fanny packs. Also known as bumbags. Also know as belt bags. Also known as pocket belts. And I think that covers all the titles.

The "belt bag" and "pocket belt" names are fairly self-explanatory. But do you know why fanny packs are called "fanny packs?" And "bum bags?" Because fanny packs were originally worn right on the backside, or the bum, or the fanny, if you will.

Obviously, wearing a belt bag on the rear side is pretty impractical because it could prove quite difficult to reach around to your backside to try and procure items from your bag. And also, it's probably unsafe because of pickpocketing and the like. So these days, bum bags are worn not on the bum, but like a belt, with the pouch in the front. 

Well, now that you've got the history covered, let's get to the forty fanny packs above, pictured in ascending price order. Fanny packs are the best because they're the most comfortable way of lugging around your personal items. Hands-free, people.
