No, this is not an April Fools’ prank. I am sincerely and soberly presenting you these sneakers. Really. I’m not kidding. I’d wear half of these shoes.

These sneakers, friends, have come to be aptly termed “dad sneakers.” Because, quite simply, they are identical to the sneakers that were previously relegated solely to middle-aged, polo shirt-clad, khaki-wearing, not-very-cool dads. These dad sneakers may also be referred to as “ugly sneakers,” if you’d like.

But now. Now the cool kids are wearing these sneakers. Young’uns. Bloggers. Fashion influencers. They’re all sporting chunky sneakers.

Now, every dad sneaker I’ve tried on until now I’ve sadly not been able to pull off. However. Rest assured, I am not giving up. I will hunt for that one chunky sneaker that I can get away with wearing, and I will wear it. Too often.
