Some Reasons Summer's My Favorite Season + Some Summer Photos
First of all, I'd like you all to take a moment and acknowledge the fact that my title for this post rhymes (reason, season - see??). Thank you. Now we can begin.
Summer is my favorite season. Spring is nice too, but for me, summer is it. For me, summer is happiness. This may have something to do with the fact that as a kid, summer meant NO SCHOOL. And as a child, the words "no school" were my two favorite ones in the entire world. They kinda still are. I strongly disliked school. I still do.
So, the "summer = no school" equation is still the number one reason summer is my most favorite season. I'm that traumatized (#firstworldproblems).
But besides for that, does anyone else get the feeling that summer just has a special vibe? Like a unique summer vibe? Maybe it's just this feeling I get in summer, but everything seems more calm and carefree and cheerful and happy and all other nice things. People are somehow more relaxed and in "vacation mode," even if they aren't actually on vacation.
And let's not forget the weather. I cannot STAND the cold in the winter. I'll admit, the weather during a New York summer often gets too hot. So maybe spring wins the weather contest. But still, a hot summer is better than a freezing winter. I do miss my boots, though.
Also, swimming! And beaches! And barbecues! And extended sunlight hours! And family time! Sigh - summer is the best.
Below are some summer photos that I've taken over the years (with an iPhone, so I apologize for the quality in some), starting from most recently, that prove that summer is insanely awesome and beautiful:
On a completely unrelated note, life will never be the same:
